ET: Its Integration in the Teaching-Learning Process

Educational Technology embarked a very good impression to me especially in terms of its integration to the teaching-learning process. In order to better facilitate the learning process and enhance the learning outcomes, it is essential for teachers to construct a technology-enhanced learning environment featuring with interaction and collaboration. In this type of environment, students’ role is converted from the passive receipt to a positive researcher since the instructional settings stimulates students’ initiatives and encourages their engagement.

It is no doubt that learning environment will be a battlefield not literally by blood but by thoughts through pen and paper. For instructors, they are supposed to stimulate students’ curiosity and provide essential guidance. Furthermore, for students, they are required to obtain the essential research capacity and innovation.

What technology brings to education, in my opinion, is a reform of practice and value. Initially, the integration of technology helps the education extricate the limitation of space and time as well as brings much more interests and alternatives to learning. For example, people living worldwide could enjoy the abundant educational resources simultaneously and the telecommunication tools further strengthen the online learning community. In the meanwhile, it also urges the need of pursuing equal access to the technology-based education. Technology, as mentioned above, could facilitate the learning. However, if the equal access could be ensured, what will come out is the widening of the gap. On the one hand, essential technological enhancement is supposed to be integrated in the learning environment in order to boost the learning and motivate the knowledge sharing. On the other hand, fair use, equal access, acceptable use, and etc, should be on the agenda of the educational technological development.

I would imagine most students at the early levels of learning are more visual and social learners taking more from experiences than a book. I guess it just depends on your beliefs and how you can best implement a strategy based upon your classroom. I personally feel that the classrooms were a lot less diverse than todays. Integrating technology into a classroom can be very tedious and there are many things that teachers need to take under consideration.

Technology should be set up differently because of the many facets that it entails. Teaching strategies are the key to success. Teachers have to find an accurate and efficient way to teach and assess their students. I believe that once a teacher has many of these things in place the classroom will be transformed into a new, more advanced classroom; A classroom that works with the teacher and for the students. It is easy to see how fast technology is growing. It is a decision of the schools to decide what kind of technology program to implement. It is the schools responsibility to stick with the plan and back that plan so that it has the best chance for success.

The teacher's role is a vital one while integrating technology. Through this subject, Educational Technology 2, I was able to foresee what my classroom would be and how my students would learn by integrating technology in learning and for my as a future teacher, I could use these knowledge in providing and creating a better learning environment, activities and teaching strategies that would make learning and teaching a fun and active process.

What EdTech Taught Me

One of the most common things that we experience in the first school day, was the first impression to the subject and teacher. In the first place, there is a saying that "dont judge the book by its cover" even thought it is right, we couldn't replace it in our minds.

Educational Technology is our subject for this semester, as a student we expected a lot for this, not only for the subject but also for the professor. EdTech is a subject that was all related to computer and modern technology. There is also a topic that their is common with the principles of teaching and curriculum. How are you going to deal with your students and there is also a little part of Assessment. I remember, we also made lesson plan and power point for our goals in school and facilities.

Educ Tech is not difficult subject, we need to listen very careful to our professor in order to learn and gain knowledge. All lessons are not be difficult if we listen to our teachers and reporters, we need to be patient and work hard for it.

The Evolving Process of IT

As world continuously evolving, there are many changes occurred. Can you imagine the life of our ancestors how many centuries and years ago? Their life where i they just lived ordinarily and naturally. Having food to eat was their priority. Living in the world without any gadgets and technologies surround them. Doing things by their own force. But look at now, where are many technologies that arises. Several things that can replace human in terms of labor. Things that can help and make everything faster and lighter. Technology has a definitely become a major influence in how people live.

Decades ago, we use to do things manually. As time passed by, we invent tools that can help use accomplish task more quickly and efficiently. Most especially to the students and ethical practice of facilitating e-learning, which is the learning and improving performance by creating, using and managing appropriate technological processes and resources. It is intended to improve education over what it would be without technology. It provide informations that are needed by the students. It makes the life of the students easier ad lighter.. Computers and related technology are essential to the learning process in several ways. Although some people feel that th use of technology can have a negative impact in the socialization and development of critical thinking skills of young children and adolescents, and may be misused by some instructors, they are fundamental and significant tools used in classrooms and the workforce. Technology enhances education and is becoming increasingly essential to learning. Student development of basic skills, improve with the use of technology.

The Impact of IT in Teaching

Learning is much more interesting when the teacher uses variety of teaching materials. These teaching materials include not only the traditional method of teaching but also the modern way. We are on the 20th century and everything is way different than before. In this course, Educ Tech 2 (Use of IT in Teaching), I realized how Information Technology greatly affect the learning process of a student. Now I know that IT is not only for playing online  games and enjoying different social networking sites but also to make a lesson interesting and lively.

I experienced making a reaction paper through a blog and I realized that using IT, it is very easy to store educational data and it reduces time on many routine tasks as well. IT is really important today and as a future teacher, we must be an effective and versatile teacher so we can be a goof leader to all our students with individual differences. Learning is enhanced when material is organized and that organization is evident to all students.

The pace of change brought about by new technologies had a significant effect on the way people think, live and work worldwide. IT has a major impact across all curriculum areas. Education is a lifelong activity - an activity that can be influenced by the changes in modern technology and we all know that technology is dynamic so we must be prepared to changes in everything, including the way on how to teach our students.

Educational Technology in Education

Technology plays an important role in humans’ everyday life especially in education. Modern technology has truly revolutionized it. Advancements in computer have given us more in right into the human mind including a stronger idea of how learning takes place. As technology in the classroom increases, we find new ways of presenting information and provide new tools which students can use to discover the world. As what we perceived online learning is one such tool that has been well implemented in education programs in our country. The design of this class incorporates both face-to-face meetings as well as online hours of independent study and virtual collaboration.

At every level of education, educational technology is perceived as a vehicle for curriculum enhancement. Educational technology in this context is also referring to technology that is employed in the classroom for the purpose of student instruction. It is all about computer-based technology including computer hardware, software, CD-ROM, video dire player and the internet. These form of technology provide teachers and students with vast quantities of information in an easily accessible, non sequential format that can be used as teaching too.

The importance of technology in the educational process is quite evident. Computers hold greater promise in the instructional process compared to other media such as book materials, chalkboards, radio/television and film that have dominated instructional practices over the ages. Computers have the capacity to provide higher interactive potential for user to develop their individual intellectual and creative abilities. It also offers problem-based learning environment that helps the users to apply themselves in a creative manner and acquire active rather than passive knowledge. The computer educational technology provides productive teaching and learning in order to increase people’s creative and intellectual resources especially in today’s information society. Consequently, there is emphasis on the use of ICT for teaching and learning as  a potent of equipping students for successful and productive living in technological world. At the instructional level, computers are used by pupils to learn Reading, Mathematics, Social Studies, Arts, Science and so on. Computers also give exceptional opportunities to the students to develop capacities for high quality learning and to increase their ability to innovate.

Educational technology supports both teaching and learning, technology infuses classrooms with digital learning tools such as computers and hand held devices. It expands course offerings, experiences and learning materials. It increases students’ engagement and motivation and accelerates learning. Although the developing countries have become aware of the invaluable role of technology in effective teaching and learning, they have not been to make significant process in improving education through this medium.

Ed Tech and Its Value

Technology is very important nowadays. It plays a big role in different fields such as; medicine, agriculture, industries and in education. In education, technology leads a great impact in the learning-teaching process. Teachers used technology in teaching. Students also used technology in their learning process.

In school today, we can observed that teaching-learning process more on used technology unlike before that old tradition of teaching was practiced. It is not because we are in modernized generation but because technology was a big help in education. It makes the learning of the students easy and on the part of the teachers; technology helps them make their teaching interesting and easy also.

Schools implemented different subjects that involve technology like the subject Educational Technology, which aims to develop the ability of the students in using technology. This kind of subject is very important because it enhances the ability of the students to become familiar and to be aware on how to use that equipment properly. It helps the students to use computers on their learning process and on their daily living. This Educational Technology subject is very important to the students to learn because it helps them a lot especially nowadays that we are in modernization.

ET: VITAL in EDUCATION

Content:

Educational Technology 2 is concerned with integrating technology into teaching and learning. It focuses on introducing, supplementing and extending the technology and skills to learners so that they can become exemplary user’s of educational technology. One of the goal of educational technology is to help the target learners to weave technology with software (computer learning materials) to become a natural extension on their learning tools.

Educational technology 2 involves a deeper understanding of the computer as well as hands on application of computer skills. It enhancing teaching and learning through technology integration. The aims of this are: To infuse technology in the students- teachers training. Helping them to adapt and meet the rapid and continuing technological changes, particularly in thriving global information and communication technology (ICT) environment.

Reflection:

I have learned that learning this kind of topic is very useful in our country and it also be a great use for professional teacher, school administrator, teacher educators and in fact anyone who is interested on how information technology can be use to improve not only in instruction but also in the management program curriculum. Through this I have learned that using technology can be a great help for us. It can also help us to discover some inventions for the preparation for the next generation.

In addition, the plain and simple truth is that today’s world has changed. No longer do we learn in the isolation of a classroom. No longer is memorization of facts and figures the goal. To keep up with our ever changing global community with all its complexities, we must learn to be complex problems solvers, to be able to work collaboratively, to be good digital, global and community citizens, to develop higher order thinking skills, to become experts in something that we are passionate about, to be able to discern good information from bad and to be competitive in the global workplace regardless of or chosen career.

Technology assists us in obtaining all of these skills. More so today than every before in history, students have the ability to research any topic. They are not bound by classroom or library walls. Technology has opened doors to a seemingly infinite well of information, which is not always accurate. Therefore, they need to learn how to sift through it all and get the “good stuff.” This seemingly infinite well of information and current bank of technology has also allowed students to truly invest themselves in their education by developing personal educational plans or studying fields of particular interest to them. When students are actively engaged in their own learning to reach his or her own ultimate potential, everybody wins.

In short, as future educators, we are not teaching our students to work in jobs existing in the past or perhaps even the present, we are facilitating our students’ education so that they will be able to succeed in the jobs of the future! These may be jobs that do not even exist today! So in this ever-changing global society of ours, we need to keep focused on what is in the best interest of our students by providing them the opportunities and tools that they will need for their future. So, I can say that Educational Technology is indeed vital and important in education.
